BOOK LAUNCH
A book launch is a festive and special event, so it calls for a unique approach. We created a custom made box for Martina Paloncy, a Czech conservator, artist woodcarver, and author who has just released her book Vyřezávání srdcem a rukama (Carving with Heart and Hands). The whole celebratory evening took place in the Prostějov café Tančírna accompanied by a rich programme. We are glad to have been part of it and we wish the book not only to sell well but to serve people. We also hope that it will make readers happy as well as provide a practical guide for woodcarving.
THE BOOK BOX
The design of the box itself was in our hands. We designed a so-called “clamshell” box, inside of which there is another smaller box into which the book is inserted. The book box was designed to be very sturdy and tight so that the book wouldn’t fall out. We chose a linen canvas in a natural shade to match the overall woodcarving theme, as well as the decorations and accents at the book launch.
We cut out the logo outline on the cover by hand and covered it with canvas. A subtle but tactile embossing was thus achieved.
