Looking back on August in September is like writing a newsletter in January about the past year.
For many companies August is a hot vacation month and September means the kids are starting the school year, everything is getting organized and even work is beginning a new course. However, for us at Lafolio it was quite the other way around. August was a time of significant progress and we completed some great projects.
01 THE BOOK BOX
We’ve already written this article about the box for a book launched in August. You’ll find a video about the box itself, as well as a photo gallery and video from the book launch. We are glad we could be a part of the launch and enjoy the celebration with Martina (the author). If you have any physical product that will be celebrating its launch, we can design and produce a product for the event from just one piece.
02 BOX FOR DOCUMENTS
In August we also produced a box that doubles as a file holder and also resembles a briefcase. This is where we played with a variety of colours, metal accessories and materials. The predominant colour on the box is a black metallic canvas, which is washable and thus guarantees a prolonged life of the product. We combined the black with a dark brown. This colour combination would have been unacceptable just a few years ago. But today we see this colour combination across design and fashion.
The box closes with a magnet, and on its lid you will find a black polyurethane loop that is held in place with gold metal bookbinder’s screws. The black, brown and gold combined with the clean workmanship and attention to detail lends the box an a touch of elegance. Inside the box there is a metal mechanism where you can store A4 sized documents in punched pockets or other papers. This box was primarily designed for files, drafts and sheets that the customer brings with them to their clients.
