I got a whole bunch of impulses this September. Be it interesting books, articles, videos, or various events. However, one thing overshadowed them all - the Notino 20th anniversary celebrations.
I haven’t even noticed Notino becoming such a popular beauty brand. But I know for a fact that it appeals to both older and younger generations. I was able to be there, look under the surface of Notin and I was also able to talk to interesting people. Overall, Notino strikes me as a company you’d want to work for. It’s that nice growth phase where things are happening already and have a real impact on the world, without reaching corporation size quite yet.
There was a lot to look at for inspiration. All you have to do is visit the flagstore in Brno to find an oasis where beauty, technology, and service come together. It creates a unique shopping experience and it is the service and technology that puts Notino ahead of its competition. I keep coming back to the fact that we simply have to incorporate technology into our lives or we will fall behind. I constantly find myself wishing to incorporate 3D visuals into our website, but I still haven’t gotten around to it. However, I think it will be an inevitable step once VR is available to the majority of the population. You will sit in a chair, put on a pair of glasses, and view our products in the comfort of your home. I can see it happening. I imagine that’s how we’ll present mood boards and projects to our clients in the future, and we’ll all be better able to communicate our vision. At Notino, they can and are already implementing this today. You can virtually try on different shades of lipsticks, mix scents based on their appeal, and shop for products that suit you as you go along.
I have a lot of interests. And I get curious about everything. Besides, I have an incredible memory. I remember what people wore and what they said in detail. My head is just an endless supply of ideas that pop up in the most unexpected places. It’s a rarely known fact, but I’m a biker who at fifteen years old rode a sportbike. I’ve calmed down with age and now ride a beautiful Royal Enfield classic. I still prefer a car for long journeys that offers more comfort. I like to drive. I drive far. That is how I relax. All the impulses are going around in my head, and at the same time, no journey is long enough for my mind to go quiet. What I love most about traveling is the way it takes you to unknown places. In September, I was driving through Klagenfurt when I found Motobar. It was only in this place that I realized the power of community. Not only did they serve great burgers, but it was a multifunctional place under the Harley Davidson banner. This place breathed motorcycles.
And it was particularly breathtaking thanks to its atmosphere. Right from the motorbike service to the bikes, equipment, and clothing shop, to the bar, bistro, outdoor clothing market to the parking lot full of bikes. My husband said the great thing about motorcycles is that you never know who you’re dealing with. There could be motorcyclists sitting at one table, but one is a doctor, one is a lawyer, and a construction worker sits a little further away, amidst the leather jackets and expensive shiny machines there’s bound to be a rebel. You can be whoever you want. And somehow this community is strangely connected. That brings me back to my first thought. To create a space for artists. I used to imagine a studio, for photo shoots, lectures, exhibitions, meetings… Today I know this project is a bit out of my reach, but that doesn’t mean I won’t get there someday. So if you too have some dreams and believe in them – don’t give up. Try to work towards them.
